The Administrative Board of the Courts has approved the adoption of a new rule – section 202.5(e) of the Uniform Rules of the Supreme and County Courts (22 NYCRR 202.5(e)) – requiring attorneys to omit or redact certain confidential personal information from court filings in Supreme and County Court. Matrimonial actions, proceedings in Surrogate’s Court or proceedings pursuant to Article 81 of the Mental Hygiene Law are excepted from Rule 202.5(e).This rule became mandatory on 03/01/2015.
To go along with this new rule we have heard that courts are requiring a new form the “Redaction Cover Page”. This form would be filled out by persons filing paper-filed court papers. Follow the link below to fill out the form.
